Being patient is generally an advantage in life.
It is well established that acting out due to emotion or discomfort without much thought or meditation does not often lead to desired results. In order to achieve the goals that you set for yourself, you will need to learn how to be patient through annoying times and events.
We lose patience because we feel like we are losing control of what our time is being spent on. When somebody makes you do something that you don’t want to be doing at that very moment in time, you will begin to lose patience.
An effective way of making somebody lose patience is to make them listen to what they don’t want to hear. This is especially true when somebody makes an overarching remark in an effort to analyze you as a person.
For example, if somebody begins saying that they think you are bad with money and start explaining why they think that, you might lose your patience and commit an action in an effort to interrupt their speech. That action might manifest itself as violence, disappointment, or sadness.
Making Music Out of Noise
Since making somebody listen to what they don’t want to hear is an effective way of making them lose their patience, you can reverse that knowledge to benefit yourself. In order to improve your patience threshold and not lose patience in other facets of life, listen to what you don’t want to hear and do not try to interrupt that which you are listening to. Listen to what you don’t want to be listening to until the very end, and you will have practiced not losing your patience.
The more times you do this the more your patience threshold will rise. With each iteration, as if you were training a muscle, you will become a more patient person without truly harming yourself and anyone else. What makes this method of increasing your patient threshold so good is that it is effectively harmless. It will provide you many lessons of why people say the things they do and let you analyze what they’re saying from different perspectives without feeling the need to interrupt people or miss important information.
This method can be used for self-improvement or for the influence of other people. Say for example you want to end a conversation with somebody painlessly, you can begin talking about subjects that you know they don’t want to listen to. You’d be surprised how fast you can end a conversation by doing this and not giving them anything to be upset at you about.
Increase your patience to levels where not much can bother you right off the bat. Being a patient person will help you be more analytical, and being more analytical will help you gain knowledge at a more efficient learning rate.
